** HOMEMADE CACAO COCONUT CHOCOLATE **

We should all probably cut back on the chocolate that we eat…. high in fat, over processed and high in refined sugar. But if you’re like me and still need to satisfy your ever craving sweet tooth, perhaps try these gorgeous little simply Cacao Chocolates. Cacao – the key ingredient in chocolate – IS good for you, in moderation…  They are rich in natural antioxidant compounds, known to improve circulation and blood health, and give boosts of serotonin and other neurotransmitters in the brain which improves mood and happiness levels! So have a try at making your own…

Ingredients, all available in health food stores or alternatively simply buy a little kit for home:

  • 50g cacao mass
  • 12.5g cacao butter
  • 10g cacao powder
  • 20g sweeter syrup (from fruit, 100% natural)
  • ¼ cup of coconut
  • Tiny little moulds or holders

Method:

Pour a small amount of water into a saucepan and bring the water to boil. Put a bowl on top of the saucepan and add the chopped up coco mass and cocoa butter.  Let them melt slowly and keep stirring. Once they are all melted you can add the natural sweetener and the cacao power.

Finally stir in the coconut.

Now pour in to little moulds (or an ice cube tray if you don’t have!) and let it set in the fridge.
