Beetroots get their rich color from betalaines, a type of antioxidants which have shown to have preventive strengths against some cancer cells. Betalaines are free radical scavengers that help find and destroy unstable cells in the body, so whip up this tasty hummus with all its benefits:



3 Cooked Beetroot
1 can of drained chickpeas
4 tbsp of Tahini
4 tbsp of lemon juice
1/2 tspn cumin
1 tspn cayenne pepper
1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or swap out about 1/4 of this with Sesame if you have)
1/2 teaspoon of Good Sea Salt
Black Pepper & Chilli Flakes to taste



Add the Beetroot, chickpeas & tahini to a food processor and blend until no chickpea chunks. Then add everything else and slowly blend until smooth.

Serve with flat breads or crudités and enjoy!x
