“If a Magimix is turned on and no one is around to Instagram the result, did you really make anything? We’ve heard undocumented smoothies have zero-to-no nutritional value…”
Some people think smoothie bowls are a joke for food bloggers and the like, because surely whether you decoratively sprinkle the chia seeds and cacao nibs on top makes no difference to if you blended them all in a traditional smoothie… and I agree to a point. BUT I have to say smoothie bowls do feel like more of a complete meal, as though you’re having a fruity porridge for breakfast instead of downing a smoothie that is over in seconds. So I am all for them and hope you enjoy my few posts with different smoothie bowl ideas.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Almond Milk (or any type of milk you like!)
• 1 cup frozen banana chunks
• Blackberries
• Strawberries
• Pomegranate
• Blueberries
• Different superfoods to decorate with, such as bee pollen and coconut flakes
Method:
Put your frozen bananas and almond milk in a blender and process until everything is smooth and the texture of ice cream. Add a little cold water or more milk if the smoothie is too thick. Then simply pour into a bowl and top with your berries, shredded coconut and pee bollen!
As it is made up of banana and berries, each bite packs lots of potassium that will keep your muscles from cramping during a workout. Bee Pollen is also a natural energy booster so is a fantastic topping to start your day. Bee Pollen has a lot of amazing natural benefits which I’ve written about here if you want to know more:
