Christmas is a time of indulgence, and of course we all love a hearty festive meal. However, just a few healthier choices here and there will make all the difference to how you feel throughout Silly Season, and will make January much more bearable…
With this in mind, I have been thinking of a few ways to make Christmas Lunch a little better for you, starting with making the Sides and Vegetables a bit more enticing so that perhaps you tuck into a few more greens instead of that extra processed cocktail sausage….
Brussel Sprouts have traditionally been the veggie that everyone pushes to the side of their plates on Christmas Day, but try these and I promise you’ll change your mind! Just fry some finely chopped Organic Spicy Chorizo in one pan with some walnuts, whilst half boiling the Brussels for 3 minutes in another pan, then add the blanched Brussels to the Chorizo Pan for another 3 minutes. The spicy oil is such a delicious addition so I hope you enjoy!
And if you don’t like them, then just gobble down a few anyway, because Brussels Sprouts are a part of the cruciferous vegetable family, which also includes the nutritional powerhouses kale, broccoli & cabbage, all of which supply loads of nutrients for a small amount calories, and have been associated with a lower risk of cancer.
Researchers have discovered that sulforaphane found in Brussel Sprouts has the power to inhibit the harmful enzyme (HDAC), known to be involved in the progression of cancer cells. The ability to stop HDAC enzymes could make these little nutritious greens a potentially powerful part of cancer treatment in the future.
I’ll upload a few more festive ideas as December continues, but hope you enjoy these little greens!

Good idea. I tend to use bacon, but will switch things up next winter!
