If you’re trying to cut down on the carbs, you’re going to love this recipe created from The Londoner’s blog. It has a similar consistency to Rye Bread but without all of the shop bought additives and nasties. Perfect for butter & marmite, or under your poached egg!
YOU’LL NEED:
6 eggs
1.5 cups of flax meal
6tbsp water
1 cup of ground almonds
1.5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sea salt
Mix the eggs and water in one bowl and put to one side. Next mix all the dry ingredients in another bowl, and mix together slowly.
Add your wets to your drys and mix evenly around. Pop it all into a buttered small loaf tin and bake for 30 minutes at about 170’C.
Flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components, but predominantly its Omega-3 essential fatty acids, “good” fats, have been shown to have benefits on your heart health.
Enjoy!
